Shake Shack Appoints Christiane Pendarvis to Board

Shake Shack said Thursday it has appointed retail veteran Christiane Pendarvis to its board of directors, effective July 2.

Pendarvis brings more than 25 years of experience in consumer brands, direct-to-consumer and omnichannel retail. She is currently co-CEO of Pattern Beauty by Tracee Ellis Ross and previously served as co-president of Savage X Fenty, where she helped expand the brand into new product categories and add a physical retail channel.

The appointment adds a leader with experience at Victoria’s Secret, Aerie, Old Navy, Minted and FullBeauty Brands to Shake Shack’s board as the company continues to scale. Founder and Chairman Danny Meyer said Pendarvis’ background in profitable growth, retail merchandising and digital commerce will support the chain’s expansion and guest engagement efforts.

Pendarvis has also served on the boards of Hootsuite, Hims & Hers and Savage X Fenty. She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard University and an MBA from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. The market has reacted to these announcements by moving the company's shares -0.19% to a price of $58.22. Check out the company's full 8-K submission here.
