Cencora said Silvana Battaglia will retire after seven years as executive vice president and chief human resources officer, and Samantha Hammock will take over the role on July 13, 2026.
Battaglia’s exit follows a period in which she helped oversee the company’s employee base of more than 51,000 team members. She will stay on as a special advisor starting July 13 and work with Hammock through the end of the calendar year.
Hammock joins from Verizon, where she most recently served as executive vice president and chief human resources officer. Before that, she held executive HR roles at American Express, including head of global talent and learning.
The leadership change comes as Cencora continues to scale a business that the company says generates more than $300 billion in annual revenue and ranks No. 10 on the Fortune 500 and No. 17 on the Global Fortune 500. Following these announcements, the company's shares moved -0.58%, and are now trading at a price of $279.79. If you want to know more, read the company's complete 8-K report here.
