Home Depot said Chairman, President and CEO Ted Decker will take a temporary medical leave of absence and expects to return within the next few months.
During the leave, the company named two longtime executives to run the top office. Ann-Marie Campbell, senior executive vice president, will oversee day-to-day operations. Richard McPhail, executive vice president and chief financial officer, will oversee financial management and the company’s Pro business.
Greg Brenneman, the independent lead director, will chair the board while Decker is away.
The company said that at the end of the first quarter it operated 2,361 retail stores and more than 1,280 SRS locations across the U.S., Canada and Mexico, and that it employed over 470,000 associates.
