Baxter International said it has named John Rogers executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective Oct. 1, 2026, replacing the role at a time when the company is pressing ahead with a turnaround and balance-sheet repair effort.
Rogers is coming from Smith+Nephew, where he has been CFO since 2024 and CFO-designate in 2023. Before that, he was CFO of WPP, where he led a global transformation program. His earlier roles included CFO of Sainsbury’s and CEO of Sainsbury’s Argos, where he oversaw a major digital transformation of the omnichannel business.
Baxter said Rogers will report to President and Chief Executive Officer Andrew Hider. Hider said Rogers’ background in complex transformation initiatives and operational finance made him a fit for Baxter as it works to stabilize the business, strengthen the balance sheet and improve execution.
Rogers also brings board experience, including service as an independent director and audit committee chair at Grab Holdings and as a director of Travis Perkins.
In the same announcement, Baxter reiterated its full-year 2026 financial outlook, leaving unchanged the guidance it last issued on July 30, 2026.
Baxter said it has about 37,500 employees. Following these announcements, the company's shares moved 2.54%, and are now trading at a price of $26.60. For the full picture, make sure to review BAXTER INTERNATIONAL INC's 8-K report.
