Charles River Laboratories said at its 2026 investor day that it is targeting a sharper earnings and margin profile by 2030, while keeping 2026 guidance at the top end of its prior range.
The company said it now expects 2026 revenue growth to land at the upper end of its 0% to 1% organic growth range, and 2026 non-GAAP earnings per share to come in at the upper end of its $11.15 to $11.45 guidance range.
For 2030, Charles River set new targets for 5% to 7% organic revenue growth, compared with the 2026 outlook for flat to 1% growth. It also aims to lift non-GAAP operating margin to about 24% from a 2026 range of 21.0% to 21.3%, a gain of roughly 2.7 to 3.0 percentage points. Non-GAAP EPS is targeted to grow at a low-double-digit compound annual rate from 2027 through 2030.
The company said its “Create the Future” program is expected to generate more than $300 million in cumulative savings from 2027 through 2030. It also said its bioanalysis revenue is expected to grow organically at a high-single-digit compound annual rate to about $450 million in 2030.
On the client platform side, Charles River said its Apollo cloud-based platform now serves more than 18,000 client users and has been expanded to support manufacturing solutions clients.
The company framed its strategy around three priorities: modernizing operations through automation and digital tools, expanding scientific capabilities in bioanalysis and in vitro testing, and deepening its client-facing platform. As a result of these announcements, the company's shares have moved -2.73% on the market, and are now trading at a price of $277.33.
