Construction Partners has expanded its Texas footprint with the acquisition of the asphalt manufacturing and construction assets of J.H. Strain & Sons in Tye, Texas.
The deal adds two hot-mix asphalt plants and related crews and equipment serving the greater Abilene area. The newly acquired operations will be folded into Construction Partners’ Texas platform, Lone Star Paving.
The company said the transaction brings more than 125 employees into the Lone Star operation.
Construction Partners said the acquisition strengthens its local position in a market it described as growing, with ongoing investment tied in part to data center-related developments in the Abilene area. The company said the new assets give it a stronger base to serve public and private infrastructure customers across greater Abilene and West Texas.
The move adds to Construction Partners’ existing operations across the Sunbelt, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. As a result of these announcements, the company's shares have moved 1.03% on the market, and are now trading at a price of $91.08.
