WillScot appoints former Republic Services CEO as independent director

WillScot Holdings said its board unanimously elected Donald Slager as an independent director, effective Oct. 7, 2026, adding a former chief executive with 13 years of leadership at Republic Services.

Slager was president and chief executive of Republic Services from 2011 until his retirement in 2021. Before that, he served as Republic’s president and chief operating officer beginning in December 2008. Earlier, he was president and chief operating officer of Allied Waste Industries from 2005 until its merger with Republic in 2008, and Allied Waste’s executive vice president and chief operating officer from 2003 to 2004.

He will join WillScot’s audit committee and compensation committee.

WillScot said the appointment is part of its board refreshment efforts. The company operates from about 240 branch locations across the U.S., Canada and Mexico and serves construction, manufacturing, healthcare, government, energy and education customers with modular complexes, storage containers, blast-resistant buildings, clearspan industrial structures, fencing, and furnishings and equipment. As a result of these announcements, the company's shares have moved 1.7% on the market, and are now trading at a price of $17.36. For the full picture, make sure to review WillScot's 8-K report.
